Mucho’s identity for Biotic, an initiative developing synthetic living cells, starts from the simplest possible mark — a single dot standing in for a cell. Using Karl Sims’ reaction-diffusion software, the studio grows that dot into animations and patterns that branch and evolve like living tissue, kept deliberately black and white for now, with colour to be added year by year as the science matures.
