Layer’s Ripple Table: Corrugated Plywood Just 3mm Thick, Light Enough for One Person to Carry

British design and engineering studio Layer built the Ripple table around a new process: plywood corrugated through pressure lamination, developed with Canadian manufacturer Corelam. Borrowing the logic of corrugated cardboard, the rippled 3mm sheets deliver a big strength-to-weight ratio with minimal material, so a single person can move the table with ease. It came out of an internal studio research project into lightweight construction — a reminder that the smartest sustainability gains often start with using less. Source: Core77
