DRIFT’s ‘Aeolus’: Hundreds of Lit Glass Rods That Move Like Wind When You Walk Through Them

Named for the Greek god of the wind, Lonneke Gordijn and Ralph Nauta’s latest installation is a field of slender glass rods with tiny lights inside, which flicker into life in response to visitors’ movements. Glass and light were chosen because both border on the immaterial — present one moment, gone the next — so, as the Amsterdam studio puts it, the work only fully exists through interaction. On view at Carpenters in London’s Ladbroke Hall through October 25. Source: Colossal
