Rather than heat and cool all 400 square metres of their former industrial space, TAKK’s Mireia Luzárraga and Alejandro Muiño built a freestanding bedroom structure inside it — an open upper deck for summer, an enclosed lower room for winter. Made from reclaimed CMU blocks, wood, recycled insulation and wool salvaged from earlier projects, it sits on wheels and uses exposed fasteners so it can be fully taken apart and reused when outgrown.
