A Friend of Mine’s Cocktail Cabinet: Bartender Knowledge Translated into Cardstock

Richard Baird looks at The Cocktail Cabinet, a deck of recipe cards designed by Australian studio A Friend of Mine, which turns cocktail recipes into something you can flick through at the moment your brain blue-screens on a Boulevardier. Ingredients, ratios and methods are laid out plainly, and the object looks the part — closer to a considered piece of print than a laminated bar mat. It is a small, well-judged case for design that makes knowledge portable.
