After years as a painter, Agata Iwaszkiewicz picked up clay for the first time at 41 and found her medium — launching Ceramika Matylda from her studio in Gdańsk, Poland. She is drawn to animals, especially dogs, whose playful cartoonish faces and spaghetti-like limbs feel at once relatable and slightly uncanny. The functional ceramic pieces tap into a sense of sentimentality and curiosity.
