The Cornwall-based illustrator builds grids of poodles, rotund birds and boot-wearing insects, each specimen dressed in a different pattern and palette. Percival works in a mix of coloured pencil, pen, paint and digital tools, and says the colour decisions are pure free flow — he glances at an animal once, then draws the rest from imagination. Three months spent in Spain and France fed the latest flocks.
