Agostino Iacurci has planted an invented ecosystem in the Renaissance courtyard of Portrait Milano, where eight monumental forms in painted steel and pigmented concrete — some rising to four meters — stand in for a garden that never quite existed. Titled Arcipelago Botanico and drawn from an 1895 lithograph of the former Archiepiscopal Seminary, the sculptures carry the physical weight of their materials while their graphic profiles and vivid colours read as growth, season, and living flora.
