Chicago-based artist Emmy Star Brown fills interior and exterior walls with bright amorphous shapes, squiggles and the occasional geometric letterform. She treats the studio as a place where her inner child can surface, and pares her work down to line, shape and contrast, drawing on a background in visual communications and advertising. Her work is currently showing alongside Danym Kwon in The Peace of Wild Things at Joy Machine.
