Joanna Blémont: Uncanny Watercolour Places Drawn from Walks, Photos, and Google Maps

Joanna Blémont builds quietly unsettling watercolour scenes that feel like the held beat before something happens in a film. Working from walks, reference photographs, and Google Maps, she strips away place-specific markers so her architecture and shadow-like figures read as familiar yet nowhere in particular. That slow, sequential process now extends into comics, zines, and a 2,000-frame animated film made for Loewe.
