The Birmingham street artist Annatomix builds her animals from folded planes of colour and hard-edged shadow, so that a fox reads as origami one moment and as muscle the next. Her murals and mixed-media sculptures put the creature on brick walls, under bridges and inside wooden shipping boxes, and the simplification never costs it expression. “Sacred to some, vermin to others,” she tells Colossal — “wrapped in mythology and misunderstanding.”
