Amber Cowan builds dense assemblages from flameworked glass — flowers, filigree and colourful baubles clustered into compositions that read like fairytale tableaux. She works almost entirely from industrial scraps, antiques and offcasts, which gives her access to colourways long out of production. Her latest cloche and coupe sculptures put those scenes under glass, ahead of shows at San Francisco’s Museum of Craft and Design in September and Design Miami in December.
