Adrienna Matzeg: After Hours — Nighttime Cities as Punch Needle on Black Linen

Toronto textile artist Adrienna Matzeg’s After Hours series renders nocturnal memory fragments from South Korea and Japan as punch needle on black linen — a Kyoto taxi, a glowing 7-Eleven facade, a bar lantern floating in negative space. The black ground does what memory does: isolates what matters and empties everything else. On view at Abbozzo Gallery until May 30. Source: Design Milk
