The Berlin-based type designer pulled an archived mono grotesk out of the drawer and rebuilt it as Oficía Mono — an office siren with a corporate world of her own, professional but girly, with hearts dotting the i’s. Informed by Antique Olive and Gill Sans, Rohde frames it as filling the need Gill Sans serves while overwriting “that very problematic man by my female hand.” The character has since become the protagonist of her sci-fi fintech feminist novel.
