Each year the Central West Astronomical Society’s AstroFest invites amateur photographers and scientists worldwide to submit their finest views of the night sky and beyond. This year’s David Malin Awards went to Stefan Buda for ‘The Lunar Apennines,’ a tonal moonscape capturing a detailed view of Montes Apenninus. Categories span Deep Sky, Solar System, Wide-Field and Nightscapes, gathering images from distant nebulae and spiral galaxies to the Milky Way.
