Bocci × Omer Arbel: Light as Medium — A Milan Apartment Rebuilt as a Spatial Laboratory

For Milan Design Week 2026, Bocci’s Omer Arbel and curator David Alhadeff (The Future Perfect) turn the brand’s apartment showroom into an immersive sequence in which light is treated as a volume, not a fixture. ‘147 Wave’ — 200 loosely folded sheets of illuminated glass — pushes off the hallway wall and curves overhead like a luminous archway, while a silver-coated bathroom collapses every Bocci catalogue piece to date into a single mirrored column, and a sloping plane of glass tiles overhead converts the kitchen into a continuous surface of light. The shift from object display to spatial environment makes the case that lighting design’s most interesting frontier is architectural, not decorative. Source: Wallpaper*
