Lina Lapelytė: 400,000 Wood Blocks for Communal Building at Hamburger Bahnhof

Lithuanian artist Lina Lapelytė transforms Hamburger Bahnhof in Berlin into a participatory architecture — 400,000 wooden blocks visitors stack, dismantle, and rebuild over the course of the exhibition. The installation, “We Make Years Out of Hours,” reframes the museum as a slow-collective construction site, where authorship dissolves into communal labor and the unfinished is the work.
