Architect Jaakko Torvinen harvested whole trees from the neighboring forest of Kaunissaari island in the Gulf of Finland — hand-hewning them into structural columns, left intact and charred for weatherproofing. The 30-square-metre sauna sits at the exact edge where forest meets beach, its log-cabin walls and batch-fired stove barely distinguishable from the landscape it came from.
